- When the plane landed in Maui, I thought I was in paradise. It was so beautiful, with the sky a blue you can only dream about.

- We took a great trip to this beautiful island, even if it was kinda pricey. You have to go to the Old Lahaina Luau - it was awesome. The beaches on Ka'anapali were great. Westin Maui was pretty.

- See the whales up close in Lahaina, Maui. Lots of outfits operate out of Lahaina--you can book online or right there at the dock. I prefer Pacific Whale Foundation, as they are all very knowledgeable and part of their proceeds go to education and saving the whales.

- After abandoning the crowds and condos in Ka'anapali, we found a sweet place off the beaten path in the otherwise very touristy town of Lahaina. Unfortunately, we ate brunch at Longhi's.

- Since we were there on a timeshare exchange, we had to pay $85 for the week for breakfast and $10 a day to park in the parking garage.
