We spent a week in Payson through a timeshare exchange at Kohl Ranch Lodge as a starting point for a relaxing Arizona retreat. We got just what we were looking for, with great hiking experiences and a pleasant stay at the relaxed resort.

My 5-year-old son and I escaped the Phoenix heat with a road trip up to the Mogollon Rim. We stayed at Kohl's Ranch Lodge in Payson, and spent our weekend hiking, exploring, and visiting the little Rim towns of Pine and Strawberry.

We stayed at Kohl's Ranch. We had a delay and lost our cabin, but they gave us a nicer one instead. Beautiful, quiet area with much wildlife. Hiked to a canyon and drove the rim. Great vacation.

This is a "ranch lodge" and is in an area for those who like outdoor activities like fishing, hiking, and horseback riding.
