Milwaukee is Wisconsin's largest city and sits right on Lake Michigan. There is plenty to do here from watching the Brewers play, touring the Miller Brewery Plant, or the Harley Davidson Museum and much more. Don't forget the beer, brats, and cheese curds.

For a quick getaway weekend, Milwaukee is a place I enjoy. It offers all the best of a big city like Chicago - fine dining, culture, great ethnic dining - but it's smaller, more "user-friendly". Each time I go, I discover a new restaurant, new shop or a different museum to explore.

Milwaukee lives under the shadow of Chicago, thus you don't here much about this place. But if you want to go to a 'small' big city and avoid the hassles of traffic, overpriced entertainment and phony pretensions that come along with the larger cities, this is your place.

I live in Milwaukee. That may make me a bit biased, but Milwaukee is an oft overlooked destination for travelers as they visit the Midwest. We usually find ourselves in Chicago's shadow. But not during the summer. Summer is Milwaukee's time to shine. C'mon, I'll show you.
