- Glasgow is my home city being about 45 minutes away on the train. It is a city that had an industrial past and is now reshaping itself very successfully. It has been European City of Culture which is proof of its success.

- Paisley is a large town, 7 miles southwest of Glasgow. There are several things to see, but the spectacular Paisley Abbey is the strongest reason to visit. Paisley is easily accessible from Glasgow, and you can easily spend a day or less there and have a worthwhile trip.

- Glasgow goes unappreciated by many. Some people believe that Glasgow is still violent, it's not. Many people believe the accent is impossible to understand, ok, but it's endearing. There are several things worth seeing in and around Glasgow and is worth a visit.
