- Kilkenny has narrow winding streets and ancient buildings combined with a busy town. It is located in Ireland's Southeast, and is situated on the banks of the River Nore.

- An old city, young in spirit and cleaner than any city I've ever been to.

- Kilkenny is a wicked town; so small and yet packed to the rafters with character, not to mention the many pubs! Also the home of the Kilkenny Cats, this years all-Ireland champs (if you follow the Hurling).

- As many Irish county towns, the medieval market town of Kilkenny is popular with the Irish for weekend breaks, and stag nights. Visiting in mid January, we were advised to book accommodation and the better restaurants in advance. The town also buzzes with young Dubliners returning ‘home’ for the weekend.
