- Legend has it that the (over 1,200) Chocolate Hills are the Tear Drops of a Heartbroken Giant who fell on this beautiful landscape. This very romantic explanation contrasts with the boring scientific, geological view of ancient coral reefs and limestone sculpted by years of erosion. Take your pick!!

- Tagbilaran is the capital of Bohol and can be used as a base for certain excursions to explore the interior of the island.
It has some very good restaurants, reasonable accommodations, and VERY hectic traffic. It offers a genuine flavour of the provincial Pilipino capital

- No visit to Bohol is complete without a visit to the Raja Sikatuna National Park. A visit at the park requires a minimum fitness level, at least one companion, a map, and a few measures of caution. The reward is an experience that will stay with you forever.
