- When my son's high school band was invited to march in the Cotton Bowl Parade of Bands and perform in the pregame and halftime shows for the 2005 Cotton Bowl, my wife, daughter, and her fiancé decided head to Dallas. It ended up being a great weekend getaway.

- When I was a little girl, Dallas meant one thing for me: The TV series and its most significant character J.R. I never imagined I would be visiting a place where J.R. lived, worked and did his intrigues, backstabbings. Here I was in Dallas, searching for J.R. every place I visited.

- I'm sitting here trying to conjure up some thoughts on Dallas -- a city where I have lived in or by all of my life. I want to create a journal that will be alive and meaningful. Needless to say, I will give it my best effort to bring Dallas to life.

- You're in Dallas and you've braved the heat, done the shopping, and sampled some great food. Here are some of my favorite places in the city to check out after the sun goes down.
