- Woolaroc is just too much: a museum, a historic lodge, and a wildlife preserve all in one, built by Phillips Petroleum founder Frank Phillips.

- Bartlesville is a striking town- oil that is. I flew into nearby Tulsa, and stayed at a boutique hotel housed in the only skyscraper Frank Lloyd Wright ever built. From there, one may visit a wildlife preserve, a Western museum, and a vacation lodge--all three at nearby Woolaroc.

- While on my way to the Nature Conservancy's Tall Grass Prairie Preserve near Pawhuska, OK, I stayed at the elegant Phillips Hotel in Bartlesville, OK.
