- Pireaus is the southern part of Athens, with its getaway port to the Aegean islands and even to Egypt via sea. It is often missed by tourists, as the "port" part of it is crowded and noisy. But there is more to Pireaus than you would ever imagine.

- Orthodox Easter is the biggest holiday in Greece and I got to be part of it while in Athens. The city had a softer, more relaxed feel, and thanks to the mega hit My Big Fat Greek Wedding, I knew the correct Easter greetings. Who says movies aren’t educational?

- Every-one I spoke to, when informed that we were going to Greece for summer, said the same thing. Get into Athens see the Acropolis and get out to the islands. Athens has much to offer though, and is more than just a transport hub for the islands.
