- A picture-book village in a tranquil maritime location, Clovelly had always been on my must-see list. A few hours in February gave me the chance.

- Plymouth's Barbican is the "old town quarter" of this city, a maze of cobbled alleyways lined with pubs, galleries, bistros, markets, glassworks, Elizabethan houses, fish markets, and an old gin distillery.
To walk its roughly hewn lanes is to take a trip back in time, to the days of Drake.

- Devon, in the South-West of England, is a wonderful place of which I have many fond memories, both as a child and an adult. The climate, scenery, accommodation and activities together make for a wonderful holiday destination.

- I do not recommend going to Mont Tremblant to do the alpine ski because of the multiple problems with their chair's lifts.

- This summer, I spent a week in Devon with my aunt based at an RCI resort in Dartmoor. It was not enough time to see all we wanted, but it was a lovely vacation, and each day was a different experience.

- My hubby's parents have a caravan which is permanently based in Woodbury Salterton in Devon, so we borrowed it for the weekend - a cheap base for a short break with the kids.
