We, a group of four family members, took a 3-day rafting trip down the Nisutlin River and planned and did it ourselves. Uncle turned 80 while we were out in the wilderness. The others were a friend, son, and myself.

The Gold Rush days came and went, leaving Dawson City in the wake. This dusty town of 2,000 residents gets more than its fair share of visitors during summer. If it weren't for all the tourists, one might actually feel like they were in another era.

As a child I had often heard stories about the Klondike but never knew what or where it was. As I was planning my Alaska - Yukon - Northwest Territories trip I happend to read about Dawson City and I knew I had to go there.
