Famous for its Kennedy Compound and known to Cape Cod visitors as the departure point for the Martha's Vinyard and Nantucket ferries, Hyannis Port offers excellent dining, a quaint Main Street, whale watching excursions and very friendly B&B's.

Cape Cod is pretty much a ghost town during the off-season, and that so happens to be when we went.

We went to the cape in May to visit with family. The weather was a little chilly, but the atmosphere was wonderful.

Visiting Hyannis for the first time was a real joy. There are plenty of things to do and see. Courtyard Resort, located right in the heart of Hyannis and minutes from the beach, was a great place to stay.

After two days of constantly hearing the clicking of my train to Boston, a two-hour bus ride to Hyannis, MA, three days and nights at my uncle's death bed, and expensive but cheaply kept hotels, RCI came through with a week stay at the courtyard resort in Hyannis.

On the beach in Cape Cod on a Memorial day weekend--what could be better?? We stayed at the Ocean Club and my sons learned how to build sandcastles in the sand, jump waves and watch birds dive for food, straight down into the ocean.
