- The votes came in from family and friends. We chose Queenstown for New Year’s Central. We planned around it and took trips to the Southern Alps and the tropical fjords of the South Seas,

- Arrive among the soaring teeth biting black peaks of the Remarkable Mountains, encircling Lake Wakatipu, reflecting aquamarine blue. Red Tussock grass or fields of wheat are shocking contrasts in this land where clarity of air makes colors shimmer. All that oxygen affects people too....known for adventure and over-the-edge sports.

- It had been 15 years since I had visited Queenstown. In that time the destination had achieved international recognition as a desirable vacation spot. I wondered if fame had dimished the appeal of this area to ordinary visitors. I discovered that Queenstown is a destination for everyone at any time of the year.
