- I lived in Wanaka for two ski seasons and worked up two of the big ski resorts. Wanaka has a small-town feel with stunning views of the lake set against snow-capped mountains. This town is less hectic than its neighbor, Queenstown, but you can still find plenty of adventure.

- Having a “before everyone leaves home” family skiing holiday was our main motivation for booking The Pines in Wanaka, New Zealand. We planned our holiday around giving our 15-year-old son the opportunity to learn to ski at Cardrona, just out of Wanaka. Despite frustrations, we had the most delightful holiday.

- Wanaka is a beautiful little town, only an hour or so drive from Queenstown in the South Island of New Zealand. We skiied at Cardrona, which had the very best children's facilities and excellent skiing.
