We found Zion National Park by looking at a map for parks near Las Vegas (only 3 hours) and never expected the park to be so breathtakingly beautiful. We can't wait to return!

Park literature explains, in line with the first Mormon settlers, that “Zion” means “a place of refuge.” But the dictionary has a second, better definition - “a place of perfection.” If it weren’t so hellishly hot in the summer, we would live in this oasis of green and great red cliffs.

We camped in Zion for three days, enjoying the sights, hiking a little, and relaxing as much as possible. I couldn't think of a better place.
