In 2003 we fell in love with Biloxi. We spent a week at a timeshare in Gautier (pronounced Go-shay), enjoying newfound pleasure along the Gulf Coast. Then came Katrina. Our return trip was at Christmas time in 2009. A lot had changed and will continue to change.

Tunica has a many things to offer. The location is only about a 45-minute drive from Memphis, Tennessee. They have many casinos and hotels, an outlet mall, golf, and spas.

It took General U.S. Grant 47 days to take this Confederate stronghold on the Mississippi River. Today, the historic city and its neighbor to the east can keep you occupied for several days. Together, Vicksburg and Jackson give this history buff plenty to rave about.

With its lush oak trees and old Southern plantations with intriguing history, Natchez is nestled on the bank of the Mississippi River. This antebellum city is blooming with southern charm and history, and is a must see.

Workamping at the Meridian East Toomsuba, MS KOA we went in search of some local interest. Here are some of the things we found to do in a state not often heard about. Enjoy seeing old mills, yesteryear country stores and pretty river scenery, these are enjoyable side trips.

Tunica... what can you say? If you love high quality entertainment and the excitement of gambling, this is the place!! Add the town's southern hospitality, the factory outlet malls and seeing big, white, fluffy cotton balls growing in the fields; it all adds up to a perfect weekend getaway spot!
