We had a wonderful week at the oceanfront Samoset Resort in Rockland, Maine. The location is on the breathtaking Penobscot Bay. The 18 hole Oceanside championship golf course is something to behold. Rockland Maine now has its own Windjammer boats at the new dock located in the Harbor.

We went to the Samoset Resort in early spring. It is truly a golf resort but they have tennis courts, and a very good exercise facility with a large indoor pool and 2 hot pools. This is a beautiful spot with views of Penobscot Bay along with two lighthouses.

If you like antiques and old architecture, this is the place to go. Rockport is close to a lot of great antique stores of all types for you pottery fans, Roseville that is hard to find. Old estate and manor homes that are over 100-150-years-old can be seen everywhere.

What a wonderful time of year. Not crowded, so everything was not open yet for the season. The Samoset Resort was wonderful. We visited the towns of Camden, Boothbay Harbor, Bar Harbor, and Acadia National Park. Our favorite restaurant was the Lobster Pound in Lincolnville. Golf at Samoset had spectacular views.
