- My journal covers a small part of the Acadia National Park. The park covers much of Mount Desert Island. It is a serene and well preserved park in its natural state. Get the feel of being on the rocky coast of Maine, and glorious sun rises from Cadillac Mountain.

- Going to Maine is at least a yearly event for our family, and maybe more. There is no place like it, from the rocky coast to the rustic woods. Maine the WAY LIFE SHOULD BE.

- Mid-coast Maine (the area between Belfast and Portland) is not a magnet for tourists in the winter... perhaps that's its appeal.

- Historic preservation has turned a rundown seaport in a beautiful jewel of a city. Cobblestone streets, the unmistakable smell of the sea and lobster... does it get better than this?

- This is our second trip to the Bar Harbor area... I was so upset that I was going to eat lobster every day of the week...HAHA, yea, like that would ever upset me! I absolutly LOVE this place!

- Boothbay Harbor is a quaint town in midcoast Maine known for its beautiful harbor, its rich shipbuilding tradition, and small town scenic atmosphere. It's a mecca for boating enthusiasts and a great place for a relaxing weekend getaway at a B and B or one of the area's nice hotels and inns.

- Located ten miles off the midcoast of Maine, Monhegan Island is a popular destination for a quiet getaway. Accessible only by boat, there are no cars and no paved roads, but plenty of hiking trails, rocky coast, artists' studios, and photo opportunities. Come here for a taste of a simpler life.

- My husband planned a romantic trip to Ogunquit, Maine to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. He would probably admit to a secondary motive - lobster eating!
