- My parents do not travel very often, so when I learned that they were coming to visit me in Alaska, I tried to plan the ultimate vacation for them. Our priorities were fishing, sightseeing, and keeping things within a tight budget.

- What is summer in Alaska without mosquitoes, bears in your trash, and family visiting from the lower 48? It certainly wouldn't be a normal Alaskan summer! This summer, my husband's family visited, and we hoped to show them a little of the state we love so much in Seward, Alaska.

- Milepost 0 of the Seward National Scenic Highway. For scores of cruise ships, the last port. Seward, Alaska. My friends and I had never been there, the gateway to Alaska’s Kenai Peninsula. Our last vacation trip of summer, we cast our past cares and future expectations into the sea.

- Brief trip to Seward and the Kenai Fjords National Park. One of the most scenic places I've ever been to. If you want to see glaciers, mountains, fjords and abundant wildlife (whales, birds, sea lions, sea otters) this place has it all.

- Seward is a small fishing community in Alaska that offers so much more than fish!

- Seward is quintessential Alaska, that cozy fishing town where the people know every face by name and spin yarn about weather. Nestled into picturesque forests and impossibly snowy mountains, it's also Wild Alaska, where humpback whales break the water's surface before diving and bald eagles watch inquisitively from their perches.

- Alaska is a huge state. You would need a good month to visit all the places of interest. However, if you just have a few days, you have to go to Seward. It is beautiful and it has a little bit of everything that Alaska truly is.
