We enjoyed a brief afternoon visit in Monterey, before heading on to San Simeon. Our drive took us south along Hwy 1 along the Pacific Ocean. We visited several attractions in the San Simeon area and enjoyed wonderful dining.

During my time in SoCal, I wanted to to visit the Presidential Libraries in the Greater LA area. Scheduling worked out perfectly to do both (Nixon and Reagan) in a single day, as we worked our way from the high desert and up the Pacific Coast.

Monterey Park, located in California's San Gabriel Valley, has recently been considered a mecca for Chinese food, even overshadowing some Chinatowns. Not only does it have the standard Cantonese fare that's been around for generations, but now also features Shanghai and Beijing style Chinese food.
