- We are fortunate to own timeshares, making vacations in Hawaii very affordable. When we come to the islands, we try to do it for two weeks, every-other-year. This is our fourth trip as a two-weeker to Hawaii since 2003.

- This was my second trip to the Big Island (my first was in 2000). I had the pleasure to have my husband and his mother and sister along with me on this trip. It was our great second consecutive week in paradise!

- The slower pace of Kona was exactly what we needed when, on the recommendation of a relative who also loves to travel, we blindly booked a week on the Big Island. Our needs were simple: quiet time, good sushi, and a deserted beach. We weren't disappointed.

- We traveled to the district of Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii for a week. Out of all the Hawaiian Islands this is my favorite. In this Journal I have posted several of the fun things that we did that made our vacation so great.

- Big Island—major relaxation! Don't stay at the Bay Club; very poor comparing it to any Hilton property!

- We stayed at the beautiful Holua resort. The grounds were very tropical and the accommodations were lush and inviting. There are so many things to do on this island.
