- Jonesboro is a fast-growing college town with many shops and resturants. They have several hotels and also a convention center at ASU that has concerts and other activities.

- The state capital of Arkansas, Little Rock, is not well-known as a tourist destination, but offers some nice surprises. Best of all, most of the attractions are free!

- An unlikely combination of hippies and fundies reside in this artsy Ozark mountain town, which overflows with friendliness, creativity, old Victorians, and steep inclines, although many of its famed healing springs are barely trickling. Christ of the Ozarks looks down on old Eureka Springs, with resident ghosts and spas aplenty.

- America has a National Bird, a National Song, a National Tree... Why not a National River? It's located on National Park land in rugged northwestern Arkansas. 'Yes, Virginia, there IS still wilderness in the South.'

- A week's vacation at Los Lagos at Hot Springs Village....as well as time spent in the wonderful old town of Arkansas' historic and vibrant "Hot Springs".... AND its National Park, a few miles to the south of the Village, was very special to us!
