Trinidad offers a selection of the best of everything. A beautiful beach a short drive away, museums galore, street markets selling all kinds of souvenirs, an abundance of cheap accommodations, nearby activities such as horseback riding, visiting the caves, and walking in the footsteps of Che Guevara in the mountains.

If you want to chill out after Havana, catch the Via Azul bus to Trinidad for about $25, meet laid-back people, visit great beaches, ride on a 1907 steam train to a former sugar plantation, and swim in a clear mountain lake.

Trinidad, CUBA: A UNESCO World Heritage Site

The beautiful colonial city of Trinidad is located in the province of Sancti Spiritus on Cuba's south shore facing Jamaica. It has cobblestoned streets and Spanish Colonial architecture from the 17th century. Above this city of some 60000 are the Escambrey Mountains.
