- We spent a weekend hiking in the Mahoosuc Mountains of western Maine. The incredible small town of Bethel was a delight to visit before and after. There is great food, great art, and a great B&B. The hiking is exceptional, with dramatic views. There were good trails, the blueberries were ripe, and there were streams along the trails.

- We went to visit some friends in Rumford, ME. The Grand Summit Resort was the closest resort we could find. We got to see a lot of the surrounding areas. We ventured out everyday. Most days, we left the resort at 8am and didn't return until about 3-6pm.

- We stayed here in the summer. The weather was warm, but not hot. It was fun swimming in the outdoor heated pool in 50-degree weather.

- We needed a break badky before Christmas, and we wanted something within driving distance. Something with majestic views and the sole purpose of relaxation.

- Beautiful ski resort, accommodations new and roomy; but they are not catering to the summer crowd. Many restaurants closed. Not a lot for children, especially on a rainy day. But plenty of places to hike, canoe, kayak etc.

- We stayed at the Bethel Inn. Although the weather wasn't great, we were able to enjoy the heated outdoor pool. It's a lovely Victorian timeshare in a quaint New England town.

- Bethel, Maine during the off-season was amazing. We had the resort pretty much to ourselves. We visited a week before ski season started and the view of the ski hills from the resort was lovely.
