- County Clare offers dramatic scenery and beautiful, gentle countryside. It is a great outdoors county, with the friendly pubs offering cozy comfort when its time to warm up. Visiting in December also means that most of the tourists are gone–risky weather-wise, but highly recommended.

- As an Irish-American, I had long dreamed of visiting my ancestral home. As an avid and frequent traveler, I have been to some of the world's great destinations. This combination put a lot of pressure on the 'homeland' to meet my extraordinarilly high expectations, and she did not disappoint.

- This is a less crowded, less industrial part of Ireland, the opposite of Dublin in the east, with its busy streets and cultural centers. Here you will find most of Ireland's natural wonders such as the Burrens and the Cliffs of Moher.
