- No longer a remote outpost on the Rio Grande, El Paso is a cosmopolitan city brimming with history, art, and culture. It's a city of contrasts, ringed by mountains and bracketed by deserts. A city separated from Mexico, yet flavored by it.

- Photos! Tons of photos of the West Texas. I'm going for my daughter's graduation, I hope to steal away some beautiful shots of places that remind me of my childhood. I will also stop at my favorite places to eat out and will journal about them.

- Northwestern University vs. UCLA, the SunBowl. It was the first time I've ever been to Texas, and with a bunch of friends in the band, it was awesome!

- I visited family and friends this past Christmas in El Paso, Texas. I tried to go shopping at various points throughout the trip, and it was a nightmare!

- I have several college friends from El Paso, so last year a few of us decided to go to EP and then drive to Phoenix for the New Year. We got a good introduction to El Paso from some true El Paso-ites.
