- I went with the family to this stunningly beautiful spot in Umbria. The countryside is quite dramatic and well worth a visit. I was not so impressed with the Carpediem resort unfortunately.

- We spent two very quiet weeks with very good weather, went to Rome, Florence, Pisa, and Rimini on the Adriatic Sea. All the area around Assisi is very beautiful with very nice landscapes.

- A friend and I were able to take a day trip to the Umbrian town of Assisi, which, as it turns out, is one of the most beautiful and endearing places that I have ever been.

- Assisi, a typical Umbrian hill town, tumbles down the hill from the church of Santa Chiara to the exquisite Basilica of St. Francis. In between, the town retains its ancient character, with Roman ruins, medieval streets, and beautiful vistas of the Umbrian scenery.

- The town of Assisi is lovely, and so is the area around it, but the Carpedeium timeshare resort is of poor quality.

- Arriving in Assisi and seeing it sitting on the top of the hill was something to behold. It is an enclosed citidel, and the area is old and calming. The church of St. Francis of Assisi impressed us, as did seeing his crypt.

- We traveled to Italy in spring 2002 and brought along our niece from Alaska. This was her graduation present. From the picturesque medieval towns of Assisi, Corciano, and Gubbio, to the glorious sights of Pisa, Florence, Venice, Rome - it was a trip of a lifetime!

- Being a bit of a language junkie(I speak five-now six), I signed up for a month's intensive course in Assisi, the home of St. Francis(San Francesco)-a world site. Living there for a month was fascinating and offered both challenges and many rewards.
