- A safari to Northern Tanzania can include the highest mountain in Africa, Ngorongoro and other volcanic craters, the Great Rift Valley, the vast Serengeti plains, soda lakes covered with flamingos, hundreds of different bird species, and, of course, all the animals. It can truly be a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

- Vast rolling grasslands stretching thousands of miles and home to the largest migration of animals on the globe. Even when the herds aren't there the range of animals is simply astonishing. The best wildlife show in the world.

- Four days of real local flavor in and around Morogoro, the second-largest city in Tanzania. A family member was there to attend a conference on giant Gambian pouched rats, which are being trained to detect mines. The conference sponsored a one-day safari in Mikumi National Park.
