Chuck was very excited about Healdsburg. Neither one of us had been up there, and he had told me that one of his work colleagues insisted he see it. Slightly north of Santa Rosa, it seemed like a fun thing to do for a day.

Found in the heart of the Sonoma Valley wine region, Healdsburg is an ideal spot to spend a weekend out of San Francisco and a great location from which to indulge in all sorts of recreational activities, from bike riding to massages, from fine dining to, of course, wine tasting.

Healdsburg is a very relaxing place with wine tasting and Jazz on the square. It is surrounded by vineyards and redwood trees. This is one place to go if you want to relax.

Hop Kiln Winery, on Westside Road, is the perfect stop. Everything is above standard, from the wine to the grounds and their impeccable customer service.

I found a website with the ability to look up wineries by type of wine and amenities. It was so easy! It was to plan a Sauvignon Blanc tasting trip! We made a list and found a winery with a picnic site and a restaurant with carry-out. We were set!
