- Although certainly not one of the U.S.'s most cosmopolitain cities, Oxnard is an excellent resource and entertainment centers for those who like to take advantage of California's Camping experience

- Went with friends and family to visit my son that lives in Santa Barbara. Stayed at the Channel Island Resort in Oxnard. It was only 30 miles from my son. We loved it, a place I could certainly return to. The people were very friendly.

- I stayed at Channel Island Shores. What a great beach! You should visit Channel Island Harbor and Ventura Harbor. The people are very friendly and helpful. See Maritime Museum. I found two deep sea fishing landings, and one had docks that you could fish off of.

- Christmas at the beach, what a wonderful combination. The waves were big. The weather was awesome. The beaches were very nice and quiet. I would love to go again.

- The Mandalay Beach area is beautiful, quiet and well-maintained. We had no crowded beaches and a wonderful condo to come home to.
