Though a small town in the western Scottish Highlands, Ft William is a fundamental stop in viewing the area, and starting point to Glen Nevis.

Ft. William is called the gateway to the Highlands and is the end point of the 95 mile West Highland Way hiking trail. Set on the banks of Loch Linnhe, Ft. William is surrounded by some of the most scenic and dramatic countryside in all of Scotland.

At 1,300m above sea level, Ben Nevis is nothing compared to the high Himalayas or Andes, and not even the Austrian Alps. But very changeable weather makes this mountain a tough climb.

Fort William is about 100 miles north of Glasgow. It is an excellent base for exploring the amazing beauty of the west highlands. It is situated along the shores of Loch Linhe.
