Stillwater is located less than a half hour's drive northeast of the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota. Stillwater lays in the heart of the St. Croix River Valley, whose banks draw the state line between Minnesota and Wisconsin.

The oldest city in Minnesota is filled with antiques and tourists, but is still fun to visit even if you hate both of those things.
The journal is written from the perspective of someone who grew up in Stillwater and has watched it change from a city that was sometimes sheepish about its roots, to one that has embraced them as a hook to get tons of tourists and the dollars that follow them.
