- Flying into Panama City? My friend Donna and I spent only the first and last night here during our two-week journey exploring Panama's surrounding rainforest, mountains, and Kuna Yala islands. Yet we managed to find some gems worth sharing, even in this (too) brief stay.

- I came to Panama to ride the world’s first transcontinental railroad. I left with photos of Spain’s first Pacific-coast colony, 16th-Century churches and 21st-Century skyscrapers, and a new appreciation for the engineering genious behind the Panama Canal. Here’s a photo-journalist’s report.

- In Panama City, Panama, you will see beautiful unplanned landscapes and animals. From the moment you land in the airport, you will know that you are definitely "not in Kansas anymore". The beautiful country is a great place to vacation for both the leisurely traveler and the active one.

- The Intercontinental Playa Bonita is 20 minutes from Panama City, opened on December 15, 2006. The place is great, with tasty food. It's also quiet. We had a major bed-flea problem and complained, but nothing much was done.
