- Lucerne, or Luzern, as the Swiss say, is a wonderful, pedestrian-friendly city just an hour by train from Zurich. Whether your tastes run to museums, (the Picasso), adventure (excursion to Mt. Pilatus), history (the Dying Lion monument and the bridges) or simply the cafe scene, Lucerne is sure to please. If you're looking for classic Switzerland, a sense of history,
great shopping, restaurants, and mountain excursions, look no further than Lucerne!

- Lucerne is what you always imagined Switzerland to be. With its cobblestone streets, covered bridges and backdrop of majestic mountains, it is a true beauty. We enjoyed our stay in Lucerne-it was our favorite of the Swiss cities we visited.

- Surrounded by the peaks of the Alps, Lucerne is a picturesque town with a beautiful lake. The water is so clear and the air brisk. Old bridges zig zag and the old and the new collide in the realm of architecture.

- While staying with my friend Karen in canton Aarau, we decided to drive down to Lucerne for the day. With nothing much in mind, we strolled through streets, played chess by the swans, and enjoyed people-watching along the Reuss.

- The most breathtaking views imaginable. I rode a cable car up the side of this massive mountain to over 8,000 feet up.
