Old Western movie buffs will immediately recognize the oft filmed mesas, buttes, and spires of famous Monument Valley. But driving through and walking amidst these lovely landforms is an entirely different, extremely rewarding, and unforgettable experience. You’ll be compelled to return again and again.

As part of an 8 day road trip that looped us from Albuquerque, eastern Arizona, across southern Utah, and back across northern Arizona (see related journals), our second night was in Kayenta, Arizona. The surrounding area is scenic and fabulous.
