This was our day trip of choice on the Great Barrier Reef. It offered amazing snorkeling at secluded locations, and I enjoyed every minute!

Take a four-day cruise on from Townsville Australia to Cairns via the Great Barrier Reef on the Coral Princess. Cruise took in a few islands and a stop at the Great Barrier Reef. Accommodations were comfortable, food was good and stops were interesting. We got to snorkel every day.

Lady Elliot is the southernmost point on the Great Barrier Reef. This wonderful little coral cay is so small you can walk around the ENTIRE island in under an hour! Only 140 people are allowed on the island at a time.

I became the poster child for Murphy's Law at the Great Barrier Reef.
I assumed the world's largest living thing would be easy to visit. I was disappointed. It's not.
I expected something would go wrong. Unfortunately, four of my five planned dive days were canceled. Murphy's Law, squared.
