- We rented a 4x4 and took a day trip from Las Vegas to Death Valley. It was like being on another planet, and I recommend it to anyone traveling in the winter months (to avoid the oppressive heat in the summer)

- Death Valley beckoned us to make a quick visit. We'd explored Vegas, had a car, and we were free agents. We set off to explore.

- The carpet of flowers on the floor of Death Valley this year is a remarkable sight and probably a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. If you can, don't miss it, but time is running out.

- In 2004, we visited Death Valley for the third time. For my wife and me, Death Valley is one of the most beautiful places in the world: remote, hot, full of friendly locals, and after every turn in the road, a new breathtaking landscape is waiting.

- For anybody who is desert-phobic, Death Valley is a great place to get over it! There are great day trips within the park to take. I recommend Titus Canyon and Scotty’s Castle. The pupfish, which are found only here, are proof that life prevails in Death Valley.
