- More travelers are finding La Romana listed on iteneraries with flight schedules, cruise ports of call, and organized tour stops. Guidebooks haven't been able to keep up with rapid growth of the DR's newest tourist boom area. These days, it's more than just a sugar town; it's something for everyone!

- We booked at Wyndham Palace, but there was no room at check-in, so we moved to the beach resort. Management was very rude, and we had no assistance with luggage. No apologies were made. We moved back to Palace the second day, wasting 1.5 days. The beach and pools were nice, and the staff was very friendly. The food was mediocre. You must reserve places at the restaurants by 8am if you don’t want the buffet. The restaurants are always half full.

- For some true seclusion, head out to sea--I mean, see Isla Catalina.

- As we descended to the Punta Cana International Airport we could see mountains, palm trees, and rivers - 100% percent natural! When we arrived we rented a car from Avis. It was an amazing and crazy 1 1/2 hr ride to our Hotel- Iberostar Hacienda Dominicus nearby La Romana.

- We stayed at the Viva Dominicus Palace for our honeymoon. The grounds were beautiful and the food was excellent.
