One of the most important forts (historically) in the state was erected in 1505 by Francisco d'Almedia of Portugal in Kannur, Kerala.

My week long stay at the Kannur Beach House was wonderful. The Beach was clean, and uncrowded. The Sunsets mesmerising everyday.
