Although less than 50 miles away from San Francisco, when I visit Point Reyes I feel like I've traveled thousands of miles and centuries in time to a rugged coastal land sparsely settled by hardy pioneers.

I went horseback riding along a trail near the Seashore.
My friend and I pulled up, jumped on two string horses, along with a guide and set out on a trek along a beautiful trail beside the Pacific.

Point Reyes is a reminder of how amazing nature can be. I've spent extensive time in the north section, visiting the historic lighthouse, walking the beaches, and gawking at the wildlife. I've also hiked in the southern part to a beautiful waterfall that flows into the sea.

Just an hour north of San Francisco is a gem of a national park: Point Reyes National Seashore. Beaches, hiking trails, kayaking, whale watching, oysters, tide pools, sea lions, bird watching, all are right here in your own backyard.
