- This quiet hilly town, nestled along two converging rivers, provides an excellent jumping-off point to explore the surrounding wonders. Explore caves, waterfalls, jungle, mountains, butterfly farms, and the Rainforest Medicine Trail.

- We skipped town during Easter Week to visit the southern half of Belize, including San Ignacio and the Mountain Pine Ridge Area, then went to the beaches including Dangriga and Placenica, Belize.

- A perfect central base camp for archeological excursions and outdoor adventures, San Ignacio (Cayo) has plenty of inexpensive accommodations and good food. Cayo has a diverse population, making for an interesting cultural experience as well.

- In January 2003, my partner and I spent one week in the jungles of Belize, with a side-trip to Tikal in Guatemala. In that time, Belize worked its spell on me. I will definitely be back.

- Beautiful and charming (in a rustic sort of way) town in the northwest of Belize. Amazing eco-tourism surrounding it, ranging from caving to ruins to tubing.

- How hard it is to put into words this wealth of feelings I have inside.
I have just returned from a vacation and honeymoon of a lifetime! Belize, a beautiful, peaceful country filled with an incredible past of Mayan history, and a stay at the Black Rock Lodge, the future of adventure/eco-tourism in Belize...

- My husband and I spent four wonderful days in the "Cayo", San Ignacio, Belize. This is a wonderful laid-back town where one can easily and relatively cheaply arrange for adventure trips to waterfalls, canoe rides, cave tours and mayan ruins.

- Belize is mainly known for its beaches & barrier reef - but it has a lot to offer away from the coast too! About 2.5 hours inland (close to the Guatemalan border)from Belize City lies San Ignacio with white water rivers, jungle & a host of Mayan ruins.

- While working in the more primitive southernmost tip of Belize I my husband and friends who had come to visit took a long weekend retreat to the Cayo District and lavished in the more typically "tourist" amenities available there.

- My sister and I decided we needed a little adventure in our lives. We went caving , camped in the jungle, tore around the countryside in battered schoolbuses, climbed pyramids , tossed down Beliken Beer with the leggy, young backpackers at Eva's and fell in love with Belize.
