St. Gallen has a beautiful medieval town centre. A lot of restaurants offer local specialties like the OLMA bratwurst and rösti (my favorite dish). My favorite restaurant is the Restaurant Bäumli (little tree) at the Schmiedgasse.

A small city near the shores of Lake Constance and the Austrian-Liechtenstein border, St. Gallen is a pleasurable stop over on your way to Northern or Southern destinations.
An ancient Abbey, historical Library and ornately designed buildings abound in the city that was the birthplace of the decimal point.
