- Our home base for a week in July in 2004 was theThe Sutton Hall Timeshare Club within the town of Sutton-under-Whitestonecliffe in Yorkshire. Car day trips included the market towns of Thirsk and Helmsley, York, Harrogate, Skipton and the dales, Castle Howard, North York Moors and Robin Hood’s Bay.

- Valentine’s weekend brought a trip "up north" to the Yorkshire coast and with it came memories of youth and a walking holiday around the wild and windy moors. Old fishing towns, pub lunches in front of the fire, and lung-cleansing exposure to the great outdoors.

- I spent two interesting and enthralling days exploring historical Yorkshire. Within a small area I found the town where stage coaches made their overnight stop between London and England, England’s largest abbey, a 1,000-year-old cathedral, the home of England’s most famous and feared prophet, and a petrifying well.

- I have lived here since 1972. From many maps you would imagine that the South Pennines are in Derbyshire but the area you mean is the Derbyshire Dales or as the Peak District. The South Pennines, as shown on the Ordnance Survey Outdoor Leisure map , are in Calderdale, Yorkshire.

- The plan called for us to make it to Hadrian's Wall for the night but after leaving York about two thirty in the afternoon we were a little late for everything.
