- The Gambia had never been considered by me, but friends had suggested we should try it. We decided to give it a whirl and were greeted by extremely friendly locals. You do, however, have to be prepared for in-your-face poverty if you travel to this country. It is an experience!

- I went with my husband to Banjul and Serekunda. We stayed at several hotels, basically a new hotel every night, and with family at the end of our stay. The country is beautiful, quiet and safe. People are friendly and there is little harassment of tourists on the streets.
