- Skagway, Alaska sits at the top of the Inside Passage, framed by the deep waters of Taiya Inlet and the rugged coast mountains. It is a marvelous place to walk, browse museums, meet a glacier, drink a Sarsaparilla and pretend you are in the gold rush days of the Klondike.

- The Chilkoot Trail is beatiful, challenging, and rich with history. Hikers who are looking to push themselves, try turning this 5-day hike into a day trip. My sister is a Skagway local, and we did the daytrip version last year; it's way tougher than any marathon I've run.

- Once home to over 20,000 gold prospectors and those that catered to them, Skagway is now home of the north wind and 800 hearty souls. Beautifully historic and scenic, Skagway and the Klondike Highway are worthy of a full day on any inside passage itinerary.

- Ever since I was at Bonanza Creek, Dawson Creek panning for gold myself I wanted to hike the Chilkoot trail and experience what the people had to do to get to Dawson (or at least get a bit of an idea).

- I will present Skagway, a very little touristy town of Alaska. This town is nestled in a valley. It has a lot of history, but when it get cold, not alot to see because the town practically packs up and waits for summer..
