- With an Ethiopian husband, I've experienced parts of Ethiopia most tourists don't. I'm always fascinated by the variety of geography, climate, and scenery within such short distances. My third month-long visit included the "Historic Route." Many treasures await in Ethiopia, but best of all are the caring, generous people!

Most of the time, I took local buses and stayed in local guesthouses, usually for US$5 to $7 per night.

- We took a bus from Addis Ababa to Bahar Dar. Amazingly, 670km can take 28 hours--20 hours driving, eight hours sleeping. Ethiopia is like no other place, an experience never to be forgotten. I'm going to break format to explain because Ethiopia always did: here is a poem.
