We arrived by flight on Bangkok Airways to Sukhothai. What a great little airport, it has got to be one of the best looking airports in the world. From here we were taken to our guest house, with a mountain view just on the edge of the historical park. What wonderful gardens.

We stayed here for 3 days visiting the old city of Sukhothai which dates back nearly 800 years. We booked into a mountain view guest house, very close to the edge of the park, the hosts were very helpful. One night cost 750 Thai baht with A/C and breakfast.

I spent one night in Phitsanulok and 2 nights in Sukhothai. In Phitsanulok, I saw Wat Yai with Thailand's most important Buddha. The main attraction in Sukhothai is the 'Old City', well-preserved ruins of the 13th-century original capital of Thailand, and a nearby museum.
