Forget Costa del Sol and head for Costa Blanca. Why? Scenery, true Spain, culture, interesting quality food. Spanish holiday makers and not the burger and chips Brits of the southern coast line.

I did not spend much time on the coast but here are two cities, Gerona and Tarragona, with fascinating histories and some almost fairytale places in the Pyrenees.

I have spent a wonderful holiday week here twice, and i can highly recommend the resort! Skip crowded Salou and go to Cambrils instead, i will explain why...

Romans in Catalunya, Spain

A lovely Catalan city with many Roman ruins scattered throughout the city. This city was the main city of Catalunya, being more important than Barcelona through much of the earlier period.
