- We stood on the Charles bridge at night and saw the river Vltava and Prague Castle. From that view it is easy to understand why Prague is referred to as ‘the city of a hundred spires’ and the ‘Golden City’.

- My husband traveled to Prague ten years ago. Whilst this was my first visit, it was obvious to both of us that the heyday of cheap beer and board is now over. We jostled with tourists to seek out the best breweries and took a train trip to Kutna Hora.

- Its name might be a bit of a mouthful, but the Bohemian town of Ceske Budejovice was formerly known as Budweis - home of beer!
