- Gainesville is kept alive by the constant influx of new students to our famous University of Florida. Every fall things get crazy as the population grows by thousands, traffic gets heavier, lines are much longer at stores, but if it weren't for the students Gainesville would grow stale and stagnant.

- When I travel for work, I often stay in bed and breakfasts and eat in smaller restaurants recommended by locals to get a feel for the new city I'm visiting. Here in Gainesville, I escaped the college crowd by staying in the old downtown.
